Assessing and determining appropriate and
common goals
Implementing treatment for a variety of
conditions (e.g. orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, palliative, post
surgical, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, frail individuals/falls
prevention)
Increasing range of motion, strength,
function, balance and mobility to restore or improve independence and to
maintain activities of daily living
Addressing issues regarding safety and
appropriate equipment in order to be safe in their own residence
Assessing, prescribing and teaching proper
use of equipment such as walkers, canes, crutches t
Providing intervention for pain management
(e.g. modalities, positioning)
Providing education for clients and family
members to maximize their independence and foster self-management
Working with other health care
professionals to ensure continuity and consistency of client car
Educating the community and health care
professionals in optimizing health and fitness and in injury prevention
